Rooted in curiosity, guided by nature.
The Sussex Beekeeper was founded by Fynn and Lisa, a couple brought together by a shared love of nature and a stroke of serendipity. While at work, Fynn discovered some hidden beehives and was instantly captivated by the hum of honeybees foraging in the golden light of day. That quiet moment stirred a curiosity that would soon grow into something much more.
In 2017, with their family grown and the buzz of interest still lingering from that chance discovery, Fynn enrolled in a local beekeeping course. What began with a single hive soon blossomed into a thriving journey, now caring for many colonies across Sussex.
Our hives are nestled across the rolling hills of the South Downs, where bees forage on wildflowers unique to this beautiful national park. Each jar of our honey captures the true flavour of Sussex — raw, unpasteurised, and minimally cold-filtered to preserve its natural enzymes, character, and origin.
To complement our Sussex honey, we migrate select colonies each year to the heather-rich heathlands of the New Forest in Hampshire. There, our bees produce a rare and aromatic heather honey, regarded as one of the finest honeys in Britain.
Lisa, the industrious “worker bee” of the pair, runs the heart of the operation, managing orders, delivering to local stockists, and handcrafting our signature beeswax candles.
Our goal is to produce a range of exquisite honeys that reflect our passion for beekeeping and support the remarkable honeybees we care for.
Lovingly produced by our bees and by our hands.
